On Wednesday, February 11th, the CCD teens will host a "Sweet Soiree", an evening of dessert and dialogue. The goal is to bring together the adults of our congregation and our teens to socialize, explore, and expand on faith-related topics and personal experiences, and get to know each other, while enjoying desserts and refreshments. This light and relaxed environment will give our teens a chance to interact with the men and women who make up our church and see the value in their wisdom and experiences. It is also a reminder to our students that Confirmation isn't the end of an obligation, but rather the beginning of our adulthood in the church. That there is still very much a place for them at church. I am hoping the adults who attend can bring stories of what their faith means to them and real-world experiences of how our Catholic faith has made an impact on their lives. This opportunity also gives the adults in our congregation a way to recognize and see first--hand that there is a strong youth presence here and they are in constant need of mentorship and inclusion. Dessert and drinks will be provided. There will be conversation starters and prompts at the tables as well that can be utilized to get the conversations started.
